Good news for people as fuel and gas prices will go down from this Saturday.
Industry and Trade Minister, Faiyaz Koya says the price of unleaded fuel will go down from $1.95 to $1.90 a litre, the price of diesel will go down from $1.60 to $1.53 a litre, kerosene prices will decrease from $1.36 to $1.31 a litre while the price of premix fuel will decrease from $1.80 to $1.73 a litre.
There is a big drop in gas prices.
A 4.5kg cylinder of gas will cost $12.67.
The price of a 12kg cylinder will go down from $37.71 to $33.78 while the price of autogas will go down from $1.77 to $1.59.
Prices will vary outside the main centres.
Koya says the price changes are due to increase in the US petroleum production and reduction demand in Europe for LPG.
