Frozen 2 raked in US $350 million in its opening weekend worldwide, beating forecasts and the box office debut of the original movie.
According to Reuters, the 2013 original took US $93m during its first five days in theatres.
It ended up making US $1.27bn in total.
Disney says the sequel has set a new record for the biggest opening weekend for an animation.
