What began as helping his aunt Pushpa with sewing many years ago has turned into a full-time profession for 34-year-old Ritesh Lal, who now runs his own tailoring shop at the Suva Flea Market, and is preparing to showcase his work at tomorrow’s Makete Fashion Show.

Speaking to fijivillage News, Lal says he didn’t attend any tailoring school but learned everything by watching and assisting his aunt. After his mother’s passing, he says he went to live with his aunt, and soon found himself helping with her sewing business at the Flea Market.

Being a tailor for more than two decades, Lal says his work is known for versatility, from sleeveless dresses to all types of design patterns, which he will be showcasing tomorrow which he is excited about.

The Makete Fashion Show will be held this Saturday at 6pm at the Suva Flea Market.
