A Tongan medical team comprising three doctors conducted free medical checks for Tongans who came to celebrate Tonga Day at the Api Tonga Church, where they celebrated their culture and heritage.

Hundreds of Tongans from all walks of life in Suva and around the country gathered for a 3-day celebration of their culture at the Suva Civic Centre last night and today at Api Tonga, where they are showcasing the delicacies of the Kingdom of Tonga.

WOWS Kids Fiji Founder Sina Kami told fijivillage News that every year around the world, Tongans gather to celebrate this day, and she is glad her people have shown so much love and respect coming in unison to celebrate their culture and heritage in Fiji.

Kami says students are selling their handicraft works while children sell cakes, desserts, BBQs, sausage sizzles, and other drinks.

Kami says tomorrow they will have a combined service led by Archbishop Sione Uluilakeba at the Anglican Church to end the celebrations.
