Free bus fare for pensioners and people with disabilities will come into effect in the next couple of weeks.
This was highlighted by the Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum when questioned by Humphery Chang an eligible pensioner on when this initiative will come into effect.
Chang says that he had asked relevant authorities on when this will start.
Sayed-Khaiyum says they are just working out the logistics with Vodafone.
He says they had certain agreements with the bus companies who wanted the bus fare increase due to fuel prices increasing.
He says they have come up with a cap to give pensioners $25 a month.
