The four lane road from Nakasi to the Rewa bridge will be completed in the next 4 to 6 weeks.

This was highlighted by the Fiji Roads Authority CEO Jonathan Moore at the Fiji Bus Operators Association Annual Conference.

Moore says this will definitely help solve traffic congestion from Nausori to Suva as the only solution to traffic is to create alternative routes.

He says once the four lane road is completed there will be a dedicated bus lanes only during peak hours.

Moore says the dedicated bus lanes will be operational from 6.30am to 9.30am and from 4pm to 7pm in the weekdays.

He says people need to be prepared for problems to be faced within the first and second months when dedicated bus lanes are operational through the Suva-Nausori corridor.

Moore says there are also cycle lanes and this is a green initiative of the Authority that has been incorporated into the footpath design.

Moore says this initiative aims to be an influencing factor towards global warming and climate change.
