Former national 7s reps Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Emosi Mulevoro, Vatemo Ravouvou and Pio Tuwai were instrumental for the Barbarians 7s team as they defeated Ratu Filise 15-7 in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s at the ANZ Stadium.
The Barbarians scored two tries through Mala Tobau and Manueli Maisamoa.
Ravouvou was sin binned for ill-discipline.
Defending champions Tabadamu were also impressive in their first game beating Naisogoceva Babas 33-0.
Tabadamu have been boosted with the inclusion of national 7s training squad members Kavekini Tabu and Kaminieli Rasaku.
Tabu scored two tries in the game while Jone Vota, Glen Cakautini and Beni Vota got a try each.
The Fiji Shadow 7s team also got off to an impressive start, beating Moala Vonokula 39-0.
The team scored five tries through Kitione Taliga, Asaeli Tuivuaka and Napolioni Bolaca with Jiuta Wainiqolo getting a double.
Fiji Shadow is laced with experienced players like Josua Vakurunabili, Kalione Nasoko, Jerry Tuwai and Meli Derenalagi who have been on a break recovering from their injuries.
In other results, Fire beat the Bua Barbarians 29-14, Police Blue defeated Kavala Bay 17-5 while Wardens Gold defeated Tavua Old Boys 26-7.
