Former VITIFM Content Director, Litia Daugunu has now been appointed as a board of trustee of USA Netball.

She has made history as she is the first person with links to Fiji to be appointed as USA Netball's board of trustee.

Daugunu currently holds two key positions.

She is the USA Netball Flying Eagles Assistant Manager where she assists in managing the team's logistics, communications, and player development.

Daugunu is also the South-West and Pacific Regional Director where she oversees the growth and development of netball in the South-West and Pacific regions.

As a board of trustee, she contributes to the strategic direction and governance of USA Netball.

USA Netball, Radica Wright says Daugunu's exceptional knowledge, dedication, and passion for the sport are truly inspiring.

She says Daugunu's commitment to their organization's objectives, her compassion for players, and her tireless efforts to grow the sport in her region have caught her attention.

Wright says what impresses her most is Litia's infectious energy and enthusiasm when discussing netball.

She says Daugunu is a natural leader who brings people together, and her work with the Flying Eagles national squad as an assistant team manager showcases her capabilities.

Wright says she is confident that in her new role as Regional Director, Daugunu will continue to drive growth, introduce netball to new audiences, and help rebrand the organization for success.

Daugunu is a seasoned netball administrator with over two decades of experience in the media industry.

Born and raised in Fiji, Daugunu has been instrumental in promoting and developing netball in the Pacific region.

Daugunu's netball administration experience spans over six years, with various leadership roles in Fiji

She was the President of Waimanu Netball Club from 2017 to 2018, and led the club to several tournament victories and increased membership.

Daugunu was also the Vice President of Tailevu Netball Association in 2018 and assisted in organizing provincial netball competitions and developing grassroots programs.

She is a former President of Heart and Soul Wardens Wives Netball Club, and successfully managed the club's finances, sponsorship, and player development.

Daugunu was also a former committee member of Suva Netball Association, and contributed to the development of netball programs and events in the Suva region.

Speaking to fijivillage News in the US, Daugunu says this is a big role for her, and she has to keep trusting herself.

She says she has to plan and execute despite the challenges.

Daugunu says this is a huge blessing.
