Former USP professor and Senator Professor Asesela Ravuvu passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday night

77 year old Ravuvu who hailed from Nakorosule village, Naitasiri was a former Director of Pacific Studies at USP and was later appointed to be a senator by the Great Council of Chiefs in 2001. Following the 2000 coup, the interim government of Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase named Ravuvu to head the Commission to review the 1997 Constitution however on 15th November 2000 the High court reinstated the 1997 constitution.
