A former Revenue Collector with the Rakiraki Magistrates Court who is charged with a count each of Obtaining a Gain and Falsification of Documents has been given a suspended sentence by the Lautoka Magistrates Court.
Saleshni Lata received a sentence of 15 months which has been suspended for 2 years.
Lata was charged by FICAC in December 2017
Lata whilst being employed as Revenue Collector at the Rakiraki Magistrates Court, she falsified the Judicial Department Trust Fund receipts and the Maintenance Payment card and as a result, obtained the sum of $100.00 in April 2017.
While delivering the sentence, Magistrate Sekonaia Vodokisolomone said Lata should be provided with another opportunity to reform, taking into consideration that the sum taken was restored.
