The former Permanent Secretary to the Governor General, the late Ratu Penaia Ganilau said any former Fiji Islander including him is ready to assist Fiji in moving forward.
Peter Thomson who was the Permanent Secretary for Information during the first 1987 coup and was then appointed PS to the Governor General was instrumental in bringing the late Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara and the late Doctor Timoci Bavadra and other political leaders together for the Deuba Accord after the coup.
When Legend FM News questioned him on whether he could assist in the proposed political dialogue currently being planned, Thomson said any Fiji Islander who is passionate about the country would assist if asked.
Thomson who is now based in Sydney, has also welcomed the interim government's decision to give Permanent Residency status to former Fiji citizens.
Peter Thomson, who is the son of the late Sir Ian Thomson, is currently in the country to arrange to put up a memorial stained glass window for his father at the Saint Andrews Church at Gordon Street. He said the Saint Andrews Council has approved their request and the window should be up before Christmas.
Sir Ian Thompson who passed away earlier this year acted as Fiji's Governor General a number of times and was also the Chairman of the Native Lands and Fisheries Commission after Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna.
