Former Fiji resident Lois Tanumi-Diethelm donates 10 wheelchairs to CWM Hospital

A former resident of Fiji who now lives in Australia, Lois Tanumi-Diethelm, has donated 10 wheelchairs to the CWM Hospital today through the Southern Princess Benefit Foundation.

Tanumi says she saw a great need for wheelchairs in the hospital when her sisters were admitted.

She says she could see there were not enough wheelchairs at the hospital which led to borrowing them from one ward to the other.

In 1995, she brought antibiotics to Fiji that was greatly required for patients.

In 2019, she also came to Fiji to donate wheelchairs due to the experience she encountered.

She acknowledges the administrator of the Southern Princess Benefit Foundation, Jacqui Betio, for the funds that enabled such donations.

Tanumi also mentioned that the reason she purchased the wheelchairs from Fiji was to allow the money to circulate in the economy, as she wants to continue giving back to her country even after 50 years.

She also donates to Dilkusha Home, Saint Christopher’s Home and other organizations.
