Former Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase has told the Forum Foreign Ministers that the political situation in Fiji is very hazy with no concrete steps evident of taking the country to elections.
Qarase said the Foreign Ministers asked a number of questions on these issues during their meeting this morning regarding elections and the political climate.
However, Qarase said they did highlight the positive developments in regards to the holding of the proposed Presidents Political Dialogue Forum.
The Ministerial Contact Group comprising of the Foreign Ministers of Australia, NZ, PNG, Samoa, Tonga and Tuvalu met with NFP General Secretary Pramod Rae, former Opposition Leader Mick Beddoes and Co Inter-locator for the President's Dialogue Forum Dr. Sitiveni Halapua this afternoon.
Earlier today the Contact Group met with Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama and Fiji Labour Party Leader Mahendra Chaudhry.
