Flying Fijians tackle high-altitude training ahead of Canada semi-final

After a week of training 5,280 feet above sea level, the FIJI Water Flying Fijians are ready to face Canada in tomorrow’s Pacific Nations Cup semi-final.

At that altitude, the air is thinner, the lungs burn quicker, and every sprint, tackle and breath takes more effort.

Coach Mick Byrne says the players have had enough time early in the week to get used to the altitude in Denver.

The Flying Fijians take on Canada at 12.35pm tomorrow at DSG Park in Colorado.

Tomorrow, Samoa will face the USA at 6:35 am in the fifth-place playoff, while Tonga takes on Japan at 9:35 am in the other semi-final.
