Flooding has hit the Western Division again and the Education Ministry has confirmed that schools affected by the flooding in the Western Division are closed for today.
Ba town is also under water
Heavy rain is being experienced in the Western Division due to a shallow tropical depression located west-southwest of Nadi at 5am today.
Nadi Weather Director Alipate Waqaicelua said it is gradually moving towards the south and is not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone over Fiji waters.
He said the associated active trough of low pressure affects most parts of the group.
Waqaicelu said people in the low lying areas and areas near rivers should expect flooding.
A strong wind warning is now in force for the land areas of Viti Levu, western Vanua Levu, the Lomaiviti and the Yasawa and Mamanuca groups, Kadavu and nearby small islands.
