Flood waters recede in parts of Nadi, Lautoka and Rakiraki

Flood waters have receded in parts of Nadi, Lautoka and Rakiraki however parts of Tavua are still flooded.

A resident of Vunavou Street in Nadi Town, Anand Sami Kumar says the town is not flooded anymore however water had entered a few shops last night.

Kumar says about 50 people have taken shelter at the Sangam Sadhu Kuppuswamy Memorial College.

In Lautoka, Sanjay Chandra who lives in Johnson Road says flood waters have receded.

A resident of Matalevu, Tavua, Sunita Devi says there is about 3 to 4 feet of water on their road.

She says it is still raining heavily and places like Yaladro and Masimasi are flooded.
