Flash Flood warning in force for low-lying areas of Vanua Levu while Flood Alert for Western Viti Levu

A Flood Warning remains in force for the flood prone areas adjacent and downstream of all major rivers of Vanua Levu while a Flood Alert is in force for the flood prone areas adjacent to and downstream of all major rivers of Western Viti Levu.

A Heavy Rain Warning remains in force for the Northern Division and Northern Lau Group and is now downgraded to an alert for the rest of Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says a trough of low pressure lies slow moving over the Northern parts of the country.

They say associated cloud and rain continues to affect the Northern Division and Northern Lau Group.

Meanwhile, a southeast-to-northwest wind flow prevails over the group.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group, occasional rain, heavy at times and isolated thunderstorms over the northern and northeastern parts of the country.

Elsewhere, cloudy periods with brief showers, rain gradually becoming occasional over the rest of the group from tomorrow.
