The first ever payment of compensation under the new Accident Compensation Act will be made by Acting Prime Minister, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum this hour.
The compensation payment is for the family of a young girl after she died in a road accident early this year.
While speaking in parliament, Sayed-Khaiyum invited all the parliamentarians to join him for the compensation payment as he said that previously it took some families years of court battles to try to get compensation.
