Team Fiji's latest medal tally haul has increased after Weightlifting golden girl Ivy Shaw secured 2 bronze medals for Fiji in the 75 kg Snatch weight division.

Team Fiji now has 12 gold, 9 silver and 19 bronze medals.

Earlier today Fiji weightlifters grabbed three more medals after Saimoni Turagalevu won 2 silver and one bronze medal in the 94kg category "snatch" and also in the clean and jerk.

In swimming, Team manager Angela Probert said Sean Chow is the only swimmer who failed to qualify for the finals while Caroline Pickering, Rachel Ah Koy and Calum Liew all advanced to the finals tonight.

In Hockey, Fiji women's team defeated Papua New Guinea 3-1 this morning and a win against Tonga tomorrow will put them into the Gold / Silver medal playoff.

In squash...Fiji's chances of winning any medals looks in doubt after they were beaten 1-3 by Cook Islands and in Beach Volleyball, the Fiji women's team is still on course for a medal playoff although they lost to New Caledonia 2-0 today.

Meanwhile Judo, Shooting and Weightlifting competitions end today in Samoa.

Team Fiji Secretary General, Atma Maharaj said the first lot of athletes return home tonight.
