Fiji’s economy projected to increase by 23.2% - Dr Krishti Sen

ANZ Pacific Economist Dr Kishti Sen says Fiji's economy is tracking well as they expected, and they are forecasting that the GDP level will be the same as 2019 by the end of this year or early next year.

Dr Sen says the demand and spending that was lost during the height of the pandemic in 2020 and 2021, will be recovered by early next year.

He adds, by their forecast, the economy will increase by 23.2 percent.

Dr. Sen says the tourism recovery is entrenched, and Fiji will see more tourists coming into the country for the next five months and beyond.

He also highlighted that Fiji should not just depend on tourism but be more of a pro-base economy.
