Fijiana XVs team to take on Canada in Rugby World Cup named

Fijiana XVs Coach Ioan Cunningham says rewarding form and consistency played a major role in selecting the team that will take on second ranked Canada this Sunday in York to open their Rugby World Cup campaign.

Making up the tight three are Loraini Navutu, Bitila Tawake, and Tiana Robanakadavu.

In the second row are Jade Coates and Mereoni Nakesa while the backrow is made up of Nunia Daunimoala, Captain Alfreda Fisher and Manuqalo Komaitai.

The halves pairing have Setaita Railumu and Salanieta Kinita.

In the midfield are Josifini Neihamu and Ema Adivitaloga while the back three is made up of Repeka Tove, Ilisapeci Delaiwau and Litiana Vueti.

Adding impact from the bench are Selai Naliva, Wainikiti Vasuturaga, Vika Matarugu, Asinate Serevi, Karalaini Naisewa, Kolora Lomani, Kelerayani Luvu and Salote Nailolo.

This marks Fiji’s second Rugby World Cup appearance, while Canada – ranked No. 2 in the world – enters its 10th tournament, setting the stage for an exciting contest.

The Fijiana play Canada at 4.30am Sunday in York, London.
