The Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua have kicked off their Super W title defense in style after besting the Brumbies 12-7.

In a game that was riddled with a lot of handling errors from both sides the Fijiana were able to break the deadlock with a try to Lavenia Tinai, which was succesfully converted to give them the lead at 7-0.

The Fijiana Drua led 7-0 at half time.

While the Brumbies looked menacing at times with their defense they still could not capitalise as the Fijiana ran away again with another try to former sevens player Laisani Moceisawana from a set-piece.

The Brumbies hit back through Grace Kemp to keep them within reach at 12-7.

While the Brumbies struggled to get back into the game in the dying minutes, the Drua were able to fend them off with big hits to win the first of many as they try to defend their title this year.
