Fijiana Drua are leaders and need to be recognised as such - Christine Clarke
Australia’s Ambassador for Women and Girls Christine Clarke

The Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua players are leaders in their communities and need to be recognised as such.

This is the view of Australia’s Ambassador for Women and Girls Christine Clarke who is in Fiji to visit some of Australia’s gender equality programs in Fiji.

In an interview with Legend FM News, Clarke says the Fijiana Drua players present opportunities to other young women.

She says initiatives such as the PacificAus Sports program is around increasing women’s participation not just on the field but beyond into administration and refereeing.

Clarke works to ensure that gender equality, and empowerment of women and girls, is a central focus of Australia’s diplomatic, development, and regional security efforts.
