Fijiana 7s names formidable side for Dubai

A strong Fiji Airways Fijiana National 7s team has been named for the Dubai and Cape Town 7s.

The formidable combinations in the forwards of Rajieli Daveua, Vani Buleki, and hard-running Aloesi Nakoci spearhead Fijis forwards for the first leg.

Laisani Moceisawana, Talei Wilson and Reapi Uluinasau add firepower to the side with Lavena Cavuru and Viniana Riwai marshalling the back line for the opening tournament.

Former Fiji secondary schools 100 metres champion Younis Bese will be on the wing while Maria Rokotuisiga and Ana Naimasi, the prolific finisher will be a woman to watch in this tournament.

Ilisapeci Delaiwau and Mereani Rogosau have also made the team for these two tournaments.

The Fijiana 7s are in pool A alongside Great Britain, South Africa and New Zealand in Dubai.

They will take on Great Britain at 5.44pm Saturday in their first match, before playing South Africa at 8.43pm Saturday in their second pool match.

They will take on New Zealand at 1.35am Sunday in their final pool match.

The women’s cup quarter-finals will kick off at 5.30pm Sunday, the semi-finals will kick off at 9.20pm Sunday and the cup final will be at 3.13am Monday.
