Fiji wins plate in NZ 7s

The Digicel Fiji 7's team will have to do a lot of soul searching for next weekend's USA 7's after failing to defend the New Zealand 7's yesterday.

Fiji failed to impress in their 12-5 loss to Samoa in the quarter finals with poor decision from captain Emosi Vucago when they were on attack in the first half.

Coach Iliesa Tanivula is likely to also lose the services of vice-captain Jerry Burotu who was red carded after a dangerous tackle on his Samoan counterpart.

Burotu will now wait for the IRB 7's hearing to know his fate for the USA 7's.

Fiji Rugby Union development manager, Sale Sorovaki who also assisted in the selection of the team said that the players who were selected are the best in the country but it was the poor decision making that cost us the game.

Sorovaki said that the team knows their weaknesses and they will have to bounce back in Las Vegas.
