Fiji wins gold in men’s shooting

Team Fiji has won a gold medal in the Pacific Games shooting competition in the last hour.

Faiyum Khan won gold in the 25 metres Standard Pistol Mix competition.

The Vodafone Fiji Sevens team has beat PNG 17-0 in their Pacific Games match this afternoon.

Fiji’s second game will be against Guam at 6.46pm before taking on Solomon Islands at 10.04 tonight.

In Women’s Sevens rugby, Australia beat Telecom Fijiana 7s team 26-7.

The Fijiana will take on Samoa in the second match at 5.40pm before they take on PNG at 8.58 tonight.

The Fiji Women’s Soccer team had a 1 all with the Cook Islands in their Pacific Games match this afternoon.

Fiji swimmer Matelita Buadromo will have another chance to get a gold medal when she will front up against New Caledonia’s Lara Grangeon in the women’s 400 metres freestyle final tonight.

The women's 400 metres freestyle final will be held at 8.13 tonight.

Looking at the Legend FM Pacific Games medal tally:

  1. Papua New Guinea is leading with 19 gold, 12 silver and 7 bronze.
  2. Tahiti is in second place with 10 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze.
  3. Australia is in third place with 8 gold and 11 silver and 7 bronze.
  4. Samoa is now in fourth place with 8 gold and 11 silver.
  5. New Caledonia is in fifth place with 7 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze.
  6. Fiji is in sixth place with 5 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze.
