Fiji went down 17-24 to New Zealand in Oceania 7s semi final

The Fiji Airways Men’s 7s side went down 17-24 to New Zealand in the Oceania Rugby Championship semi-final.

Fiji scored two quick tries through Joseva Talacolo and Vuviawa Naduvalo to lead 10-0.

New Zealand replied with tries to Moses Leo and Che Clark.

New Zealand led 12-10 at half-time.

Shay Clark scored twice in the second half to extend New Zealand’s lead to 24-10.

Naduvalo scored his second try of the game bringing the Fijians within reach of a converted try at 17-24.

Fiji was given a penalty in the dying seconds of the game but Waisea Nacuqu fumbled a last-minute penalty by knocking the ball on ending the game.

New Zealand will play Samoa at 10 tonight.
