The Fiji Men’s National 7s Team will take on Japan in the first match of the Tokyo Olympics Rugby 7s competition as they aim to win their second gold medal.

Fiji had beaten Japan 20-5 in the semifinal of the Rio Olympics before thrashing Great Britain in the final.

The Jerry Tuwai led side has two matches on the opening day.

They will play Japan on the 26th of this month at 12pm before taking on Canada at 8pm.

Fiji will then play Great Britain at 12.30pm on the next day.

The top two teams in each pool, plus the two third-placed teams with the highest points total will qualify for the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinals will kick off on the 28th of this month.
