The Vodafone Fiji 7s team will meet France in the Cape Town 7s Cup quarterfinals tonight.

France finished second in Pool D after a 22‑19 dramatic win over Samoa and a 26‑all draw against Canada.

Fiji 7s coach Ben Ryan was pleased with Fiji's performance in day one but warns there is more to come.

Fiji defeated Scotland 34‑19, thumped Russia 52‑0 and thrashed Argentina 43‑0 to top Pool A.

Looking at some of the upsets in Day 1, Kenya defeated tournament host South Africa 14‑12 and drew 19‑all with England in Pool B.

Kenya tops Pool B while South Africa finished second and England failed to make the quarters.

Australia and the USA will go through from Pool C while the All Blacks and France survived Pool D.

The All Blacks 7s team also got an early scare as they lost to Canada 24‑12 in their first pool match.

The quarterfinals fixtures will see Fiji taking on France at 11.04pm, Australia will take on South Africa at 11.26pm, New Zealand will face Argentina at 11.48pm while Kenya will meet the USA at 12.10am tomorrow.

The Cup semis start at 3.34am tomorrow while the Cup final will kick off at 6.30am tomorrow.
