The Digicel Fiji 7s team showed some commitment and determination as they beat Canada in their last pool match 26-5 to book a quarterfinal showdown with Australia at 4:30pm today.
After failing to settle early in the game, Fiji came back slowly and found their rhythm with a brilliant try to Jasa Veremalua before Samisoni Viriviri touched down under the posts after being set up by Nadroga's Sakiusa Gavidi.
Canada came back firing early in the second half with a try but Ilai Tinai and Ulaiasi Lawavou sealed the game for the Fiji with a try each.
Speaking from Hong Kong Stadium after the game Coach Alifereti Dere said he is satisfied with their performance compared to the first two games against Hong Kong and Spain.
