Fiji to expect foreign policy changes with Abbott as PM
Tony Abbott is the new Prime Minister of Australia and this means that the foreign policy approach taken towards Fiji over the last seven years will change soon.

The Liberal National coalition has won and will start preparations for the swearing in of the new Prime Minister and cabinet from today.

The Abbott led coalition is expected to make an announcement within days about Fiji.

According to it's foreign policy, the coalition said it will work with Fiji to normalise relations as soon as possible.

The first issue to be looked at would be the sanctions.

The coalition's Julie Bishop said they will review the effectiveness of the sanctions and work with regional partners seeking to open negotiations with the Fijian government to promote electoral reform.

Issues like Fiji's suspension from the Commonwealth and the Pacific Islands Forum will also be reviewed.

CFL News Director, Vijay Narayan has approached the colaition this morning on when the review on Fiji will be carried out by the new Australian government. Stay with us as we will have more later today.
