The Digicel Fiji 7s team is yet to win a tournament in the current IRB 7s series but they have one last chance to set things right and remain in the hunt for the overall title when the Australia Sevens kicks of this afternoon.
Fiji is currently in third position with Samoa on 84 points, while England is second on 105 points and New Zealand lead with 110 points.
The last time Fiji won in Adelaide was in 2006 when Fiji beat Samoa and took the title for the first time.
But things do not get any easier as Hong Kong Sevens winners, New Zealand coach Gordon Tietjens said his side needs to win again in Adelaide this weekend to keep their position on the points table.
Tonga coach Siua Tuimalolo said that being in the same pool with Fiji and Australia is not easy, however his boys are ready for the challenge.
Australia coach Michael O’Connor said his side knows the daunting task ahead of them to perform in their home tournament.
The Australia 7s in Adelaide kicks off at 12:39 this afternoon.
Fiji’s first game is at 2:51pm against USA.
Then at 5:57pm Fiji meets Tonga and their last pool game is at 9:40pm against Australia.
