The Fiji Airways men’s 7s team mounted an impressive comeback in the second half to beat a determined Canadian side 33-17 in their final pool match at Cape Town.

Filipe Sauturaga scored the opening try in the 2nd minute of play however, Josiah Morra of Canada responded with a converted try.

Paula Nayacakalou scored his first try of the tournament in the 6th minute.

Poor discipline resulted in Sevuloni Mocenacagi being sin-binned for a dangerous tackle and Canada quickly capitalized through Phil Berna scoring a five-pointer as Canada led 12-10 at half time.

In the second half, Fiji finally regained their focus and momentum as Pilipo Bukayaro and Waisea Nacuqu added their names to the points tally and Manu Maisamoa scored a double to extend Fiji’s lead and seal the win.
