The Vodafone Fiji 7s team has lost to England 10-31 in the first pool game of the London 7s.

Poor defence allowed the host team to score three unanswered tries in the first six minutes before Waisea Nayacalevu scored Fiji’s first try before the half time break.

Fiji’s second try was scored by Masivesi Dakuwaqa.

The national side was not able to maintain possession with England utilizing their kick off to force the mistakes on the Fijians.

A lot was expected from Fiji with many focus on debutant Jarryd Hayne. Hayne came in the second half but only touched the ball once.

Fiji will now face Wales in their second pool match 1.48am Sunday while the last pool match against Australia will be at 4.54am Sunday.

The Cup quarter finals will start at 9:58pm Sunday while the Cup semifinals will kick off at 1:48am Monday.
