Fiji has become a schoolies hot spot with thousands of Australian teenagers set to flock into the country this week.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the first of more than 2200 school leavers from Queensland, organised by a tour group, are due to depart Australia this Saturday.
Beachcomber, Plantation and Mana Islands have been reserved for two weeks of parties, while Sonaisali Island will be added to the list next year to cope with the demand.
Unleashed Travel director Jot Lynas said Fiji’s islands held great appeal for the school leavers, providing privacy and a way to avoid gate crashing toolies.
Lynas said it was an important tourism market for Fiji.
