Fiji bows out in quarters again
The Digicel Fiji Sevens team has again bowed out in the Cup quarterfinals to the same team that put them out in Wellington.

Fiji started the game well with Peni Rokodiva getting the opening try but could not get past a strong England defense for more tries in the first spell.

Fiji wing Osea Kolinisau turned villain in the first half, as he tackled an England player without the ball near the try line which saw the New Zealand referee awarding England a penalty try.

England went up 7-5 and also scored a try later in the first half to lead 12-5.

Fiji tried their best to cross the England try line in the second half but were only successful in the dying minutes when Watisoni Votu scored in the corner.

It was up to Captain Vereniki Goneva to covert and take the match into extra time but he missed it to give England the victory.

Fiji will now face New Zealand in the Plate semifinal at 10:14am.

Meanwhile, England will face South Africa in the first Cup semifinal.

South Africa beat New Zealand 19-7 in the first quarterfinal.
