Fiji has beaten South Africa 28-7 in the HSBC Los Angeles 7s quarter final, and will now meet Argentina in the first semi final at 10.14am today.

It was a scrappy start as both sides tested each others defence but Magic Man Iowane Teba, eventually broke through for Fiji’s first try in the corner which was successfully converted by Waisea Nacuqu for Fiji to lead 7-0.

Teba scored again from a scrum set-piece to dot down under the sticks which was converted to extend Fiji’s lead to 14-0 at half-time.

Jerry Tuwai scored to extend the lead to 21-0.

Ryan Oosthuizen of South Africa was sin-binned due to a high tackle.

Josua Vakurinabili then capitalised and crossed over to take it up to 28-0.

Ricardo Duarttee finally got one back for South Africa but it was too little too late.

In other results, Argentina beat Samoa 19-12, New Zealand beat Great Britain 24-12 while Australia beat Ireland 31-7.

The cup semi-finals will start at 10.14am, and the cup final will kick off at 1.28pm today.
