Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says as Australians turn their focus to the task of rebuilding, Fiji and the RFMF engineers currently in Australia will continue to assist.

The recent rainfall in Australia has assisted firefighters to put over 30 fires out since last Friday.

Some of these blazes have been burning for weeks and even months.

Bainimarama says this is wonderful news and an answer to countless prayers from across the Pacific, including his own.

A 54 member engineering contingent from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces left for Australia to assist in combatting Australia's bushfire crisis last month.
