The Fiji Women’s Basketball team are the new champions of the Women’s FIBA Melanesian Cup after thrashing Papua New Guinea 71-38 at the Vodafone Arena this afternoon.
Fiji led 21-10 in the first quarter, they increased their lead to 39-18 in the second quarter.
Fiji continued to dominate in the third quarter, stretching their lead to 51-31.
The final quarter was also dominated by Fiji where they scored another 20 points to seal their victory.
Meanwhile, the Men’s team won bronze after defeating Solomon Islands 67-53.
