Fiji TV still negotiating for top channels

Fiji Television Limited is facing difficulties in bringing back a few top channels on Sky Pacific that it replaced recently.

CEO Tevita Gonelevu said they had removed about five channels and are trying to get a few of them back which their customers are requesting for.

Gonelevu said FOX International has come back to them saying that Fiji TV can take a few channels back but Fiji TV will have to pay for all the five channels.

He said they are still negotiating and are hoping to finalize this issue by the end of this week and inform their subscribers on Fiji TV’s position on the old channels.

Meanwhile, Fijian Holdings Limited CEO Nouzab Fareed had confirmed earlier that he has given specific instructions to Fiji Television Limited management to bring back the top channels.

Fareed said some of the popular channels that are highly likely to be back are BBC and Star Plus.
