The Fiji Red Cross Society will now be able to extend its COVID-19 support to Fijians in more remote areas of Fiji after receiving a $200,000 grant from the Coca-Cola Foundation.

Director General of the Fiji Red Cross Society, Ilisapeci Rokotunidau says the lack of access makes it important to create opportunities for people in these areas to receive vaccination.

She says this grant will enable their volunteers to safely monitor and assist possible cases including informing family and community members on behaviour and practices that limit the spread of the virus.

General Manager of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji, Roger Hare says as Fiji prepares to open up again to the world, it is really important that all Fijians are protected and safe.

The Coca-Cola Foundation President, Saadia Madsbjerg says they know the COVID-19 crisis is far from over and they are proud to use their resources to support the efforts of the  Fiji Red Cross Society in helping to stop the spread of the Delta variant in the remote areas of Fiji.
