Fiji Police to allocate officers for elections

The Fiji Police Force has already made plans for the deployment of their officers during the general election in September.

Police Director of Operations, ACP Rusiate Tudravu said the number of the officers to be deployed will be dictated from the number of polling stations.

It was earlier announced that we may have 3,000 polling stations for the September 17th elections.
There are more than 4,000 regulars and special constables in the Fiji Police Force.

Tudravu says they are liaising with the Elections Office regarding this matter.

He also says he briefed the Defence Minister Joketani Cokanasiga yesterday for government to approve the recruitment of additional man power after making some recommendations.
