The Fiji NGO Coalition on Human Rights is calling for immediate intervention by the United Nations and a visit by the Human Rights Commissioner to West Papua.

Today members of the coalition together with Youngsolwara and allies strolled in pairs from the Citizen's Constitutional Forum office to the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre office to express solidarity and support for West Papua.

Activist Kris Prasad wrote on Facebook that 1,500 messages of resistance, solidarity and support were also collected and delivered to the United Nations Human Rights Pacific Office in a coffin which is highly symbolic of the violence and deaths in the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

He says 20 minutes of silence was also observed to remember the 20 lives lost so far in the crackdown by Indonesian forces.
