Fiji Motorcyclist Association remembers fallen members

Over the last few years, 7 bikers have died in road accidents while ten have suffered serious life-changing injuries.

While speaking during the Fiji Motorcyclist Association’s Remembrance Day, Association President Rodney Fong says their fellow members lost their lives on our roads through no fault of their own.

Fong says these bikers were between the ages of 20 to 35 years and today they celebrated their memories.

Meanwhile, Minister for Tourism and Transport Faiyaz Koya who is also a member of the association highlighted that according to the Land Transport Authority there are 858 registered motorcycles with 20 per cent registered under the Fiji Police Force.

Koya says the government is working closely with relevant authorities in trying to reduce the number of road fatalities in the country.
