The Fiji Football Association has been made aware of an alleged scam whereby some former Fiji residents especially in Melbourne are trying to get players on a student visa to play for their social clubs.

Fiji FA President Rajesh Patel says they are now in contact with the Australian High Commission.

Patel has also advised district Presidents to check on players and see if any of them have been contacted by these individuals.

He says they need to ensure these players are contracted to Australian clubs and there is an international transfer process to follow.

Patel says they are really concerned about these players as their future will be ruined playing in social games.

He says they also understand the some prominent players have been approached and have even secured visas and travel fares.

Patel says they will request the Embassy for any visa processing to be done after players are cleared by Fiji FA and their respective districts.
