The Fiji Cancer Society has received a cheque of $6,225.20 from HFC Bank.
While presenting the cheque, HFC Bank’s General Manager Retail Banking Tony Ram says that this was a culmination of HFC Bank staff fundraising conducted throughout October and November.
Ram says that fundraising included Friday muftis, office kaji and donations while the bank than topped up the amount raised, dollar for a dollar.
The bank through Fiji Cancer Society also coordinated cancer awareness programs for its entire staff.
The money will go towards the works of the Fiji Cancer Society in caring for patients battling cancer.
Ram says that from next year, HFC Bank plans to include tests and screening as part of the awareness program.
