Airports Fiji Limited is expected to provide an update today in relation to the Nausori Airport Runway which was deemed unsuitable by Fiji Airways for its B737 aircraft.
It is close to two months now that the Fiji Airways Suva-Sydney and Suva-Auckland flights are not operating from Nausori Airport.
Airports Fiji Limited had confirmed on the 24th of last month that its contractor for Nausori runway sealant works, Supersealing is continuing its work on the runway.
They had said they are hopeful that the works are completed as soon as possible so that B737 flight operations can recommence out of Nausori.
Meanwhile, some people booked for the Suva-Sydney and Suva-Auckland flights have raised concerns that they are not provided clear answers when they call Fiji Airways to check if they will be flying from Nausori Airport or whether they will have reach Nadi by road.
We have contacted Fiji Airways Manager Public Relations and Communications Shane Hussein who says they understand the inconvenience that has been caused.
However, he says they do not have any other option.
Fiji Airways says customers will either take a domestic connection to/from Suva on Fiji Link, if there are seats available, or take a road transfer.
