The Vodafone Fiji 7s team believes they have prepared well to bounce back in the Cape Town 7s after falling short to South Africa last weekend.

Interim coach Nacani Cawanibuka says he has selected a strong group of players who are special and have strong resolve.

He says they have set themselves high standards for the Cape Town 7s and players are aware of the great challenge that awaits them today.

Cawanibuka is expecting another tough battle in the pool stage after there were a few surprises in the Dubai 7s last week.

Fiji will play Japan in its first pool match tonight.

Japan has named an unchanged line-up for the Cape Town 7s.

The Fiji 7s team for the Cape Town 7s includes Captain Osea Kolinisau, Jasa Veremalua, Kitione Taliga, Jerry Tuwai, Masivesi Dakuwaqa, Sevuloni Moceinacagi, Josua Vici, Samisoni Viriviri, Joeli Lutumailagi, Kalione Nasoko, Emosi Mulevoro and Setareki Bituniyata.

There are 2 changes from the team that lost the final in Dubai with Nemani Nagusa and Waisea Nacuqu making way for Vici and Emosi Mulevoro.

Nemani Nagusa will be the 13th player who will be on standby.

Meanwhile, the tickets for Day 1 of the Cape Town 7s have been sold out.

Fiji will play Japan at 11.05 tonight, they will then play Kenya at 2.26am tomorrow and Fiji’s final pool match is against France at 6.12am tomorrow.

The Cup quarterfinals will begin at 11.04pm tomorrow, the semifinals will start at 3.34am Monday and the final will be played at 6.44am Monday.
