The Digicel Fiji 7s team started their USA 7s campaign with a 33-0 win against Canada this morning.
Fiji scored five tries with two each to captain Emosi Vucago and Joeli Lutumailagi while Miti Nacagilevu also crossed the try-line.
This is how Lutumailagi scored the opening try after a break from Watisoni Votu.
While Fiji did not allow Canada to cross their try line, assistant coach Josateki Savou believes that a few areas need to be polished up before the next two pool games.
Savou who is assessing the game for coach Iliesa Tanivula here in Fiji said that our next opponent Scotland will have the benefit of already watching the first pool game against Canada.
In other results from this morning, current points leaders England beat Guyana 49-0, New Zealand thumped Uruguay 40-0, Kenya beat Wales 19-12 and Argentina edged France 21-19 while Australia had a close 12-7 win against Scotland.
Fiji second pool game is at 12.07pm against Scotland before taking on Australia at 2.41pm.
The quarter finals will start at 5pm this afternoon.
