Emotions ran high at the Grand Pacific Hotel as the Nasese Methodist Church Choir filled the air with Christmas carols while awaiting the lighting of their Christmas tree.

People from all walks of life gathered at the GPH lobby to hear the beautiful singing echoing inside the hotel.

Selina Tudravu, the wife of the Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu, led the choir in unison and says this is the season to spread the good news, either through prayer or hymns.

Tudravu, who hails from Nasau in Koro, says today they honour the birth of a great man, and the choir is represented by all members of the Police family from all over the country, and not only in Nasova-Nasese.

The Manager, Robert Clark, says tonight's tree lighting is a tradition they have done over the years, and it marks the beginning of the festive season.

Clark says the night signifies the festive season lineup, and the management has other events lined up for guests, for children as well, like decorating gingerbread for the children on the 6th of December.

Clark thanked the choir and the staff for putting together a memorable night of singing and excitement as the festive season begins for everyone.
